The Jotay: ACTing Together Program supported the publication of the book “Migrant Caravans: Manifestations of the Complex Central American Reality.” The document was written with the participation of people and institutions linked to the Jesuit Migration Network of Central America and North America, including ERIC and Progress Radio of Honduras.
Based on studies of the first Central American caravans (2018-2019), this document aims to provide a comprehensive and objective look at the significance of this new form of mass exodus.
Over the course of five chapters, the publication presents aspects of the regional context, the reasons that motivate caravans, a series of journalistic chronicles, accompaniment experiences, and international advocacy elements. In addition, the document includes a timeline of the 2018-2019 caravans and a collection of photographs that reveal the faces, joys, sorrows, and difficult moments on the caravans’ journeys.
