In Guatemala, as in other northern Central American countries, forced internal displacement is a concealed phenomenon, which increases the risks faced by displaced people, particularly the most vulnerable populations; and patterns of violence and other structural causes of internal displacement are perpetuated.
For this reason, the Jotay: ACTing Together Program, together with the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), Cristosal, the Community Studies and Psycho-Social Action Team (ECAP), the Institute for Research and Projection on Global and Territorial Dynamics (IDGT9, the Lambda Association, and the National Roundtable on Migration (MENAMIG) launched a digital campaign to shed light on the situation.
The aim of the campaign was to spread awareness and information about the causes of internal forced displacement, forcibly displaced people’s rights, and the Guatemalan state’s obligations to guarantee these rights.
